Duplex

Duplex is a Dutch techno duo comprising Chris Aarse and John Matze, operating from Rotterdam since 2012. The pair began releasing music in July 2012 and has maintained a focused output across eight years, with their most recent release appearing in June 2020.

Their sound spans peak time driving techno and raw hypnotic techno, with occasional forays into deep house and leftfield house territories. Duplex has released music on Ostgut Ton, the prestigious Berlin-based label associated with Berghain, alongside releases on Frustrated Funk. Their techno productions lean toward the deeper, more hypnotic end of the spectrum while retaining the driving energy suitable for peak time sets, making their tracks functional for DJs working both underground and main room contexts.
