Erick Morillo

Erick Morillo was a Colombian-American DJ and producer born March 26, 1971 in New York. He spent his pre-teen years in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia before returning to Union City, New Jersey at age 11, where he began DJing at weddings. In 1997, Morillo founded Subliminal Records alongside Harry "Choo Choo" Romero and Jose Nuñez. He also released music under the alias R.A.W. and died September 1, 2020 in South Beach, Florida.

Morillo's catalog spans house and tech house, with releases on his own Subliminal imprint and Glitterbox Recordings. His documented releases from 2018 to 2019 showcase his continued presence in the house scene during his later career years. As the founder of Subliminal Records, he established one of house music's notable labels that became a platform for his productions and those of his collaborators throughout the late 1990s and beyond.
