Ferdinand Richard is french musican , cofounder of seminal R.I.O. avant band Etron Fou Leloublan.
In early 80th he issued two outsanding solo albums in same weird wein as EFL.

Then he formed with Bruno Meillier , also from EFL band Bruniferd with one album on RecRec in 1986.

Then was collaboration with Fred Frith with one album
1989 Dropera Rec Rec Music

In 90th are known two albums of new project Ferdinand et Les Philosophes with two albums.

All in all he is great musician. Very underrated. Need to be discovered by wider audience.

This second solo outing from Etron Fou Leloublan’s Ferdinand Richard finds him fashioning eight stunning assemblages of elegantly enfolded R.I.O. audio origami as a compliment to texts in eight different languages. Richard’s nimble bass bobs and parries alongside his sparring partners here (V-Effect/Fish & Roses’ Rick Brown, Virgule 4’s Christiane Cohade and Skeleton Crew’s Tom Cora); his trademarked asymmetrical grooves and thrumming woody tone tempered here by a more spare and delicately hued approach that he’d continue to elaborate on latterly via his Bruniferd and Fred and Ferd projects.
