Floorplan is a father-daughter duo from Detroit consisting of Robert Hood and Lyric Hood. Robert Hood, born in 1965, stands as a founding figure of Detroit techno, while his daughter Lyric joined the project in 2016 when she collaborated on a track that marked the beginning of their joint creative partnership. The duo has released 42 tracks since their first release in October 2010, combining Robert's decades of techno experience with Lyric's vocal contributions and creative input.

Floorplan operates across house, techno, afro house, and tech house territories, releasing music on respected labels including Classic Music Company, M-Plant, Aus Music, fabric Records, and ePM Music. Their sound ranges from peak time driving techno to raw, deep, and hypnotic productions, often incorporating the warmth of house music with techno's mechanical precision. The project bridges Robert Hood's minimal techno legacy with contemporary dancefloor sensibilities, creating tracks that work equally well in underground clubs and festival main stages. Their catalog spans from stripped-back, hypnotic grooves to more vocal-driven house productions that showcase Lyric's contributions to the project.
