Fractious

Fractious is the alias of Stephen Garrett, an Irish techno DJ and producer based in Belfast. Garrett began releasing music in 2013 and has since delivered 22 releases across various electronic music labels. He operates as a solo artist within the underground techno circuit.

His productions span raw techno, deep hypnotic techno, and peak time driving material, with recent exploration into minimal deep tech and Afro house territories. Fractious releases on labels including Sway, KD RAW, Trapez, Transmit Recordings, and Off Recordings. His techno output typically ranges from hypnotic, deep grooves to harder peak time material designed for club environments. The Belfast producer's sound has evolved from strictly raw and deep techno foundations toward incorporating minimal elements and African-influenced house rhythms in his more recent work.
