Franz Matthews

Franz Matthews operates as an electronic music producer and DJ based in Berlin. He founded the bands Languages and Moon Wave, and runs both MOWD Studio and his own label HIFI/LOFI Records. Matthews began releasing electronic music in 2019, with his debut appearing on Everything Will Be OK in September of that year.

Matthews produces across indie dance, melodic house and techno, nu disco, Afro house, and deep house territories. His releases have appeared on Eskimo Recordings, Everything Will Be OK, Roam Recordings, Aeon, and Feines Tier, accumulating eight releases since 2019. His sound spans the groovy mid-tempo range of nu disco and indie dance through to the deeper, more driving rhythms of Afro house and melodic techno. Matthews maintains consistent output across multiple respected labels in the melodic electronic spectrum, positioning his productions for both peak-time dance floors and more intimate listening environments.
