Freak Unique

Freak Unique is the alias of Freek Fontein, a Dutch producer born in 1965 in Amersfoort, Holland. Fontein began his electronic music career in 1980 as a radio DJ on Radio Stad Den Haag before transitioning to club residencies, including summer seasons in Ibiza and Mallorca in 1988. Under the Freak Unique moniker, he launched his production career in May 2021, releasing on labels including IAMT Red, Set About, Analytictrail, Vermillion Trax, and Illusion Recordings. Fontein also operates under aliases Seraque, Organic Substance, and Exo.

Freak Unique produces peak time driving techno and hard techno designed for club dancefloors. His releases span from raw, deep, and hypnotic techno to high-energy driving productions across multiple labels in the underground techno circuit. The project maintains consistent output with six releases between 2021 and 2025, delivering the kind of relentless, percussive techno that works in peak-hour club slots. His sound caters to DJs seeking powerful, dance-focused tracks that bridge the gap between driving techno and harder variants of the genre.
