About
gardenstate is a New Jersey-based electronic music project that began as a duo in 2019, featuring DJ/producer Marcus Schössow and DJ Matthew Felner. The duo started releasing music in 2020 with their debut on Anjunabeats, quickly establishing themselves within the progressive house scene. Marcus Schössow left the project in 2022 to rejoin with Thomas Sagstad to create anamē, leaving Matthew Felner to continue gardenstate as a solo act.
gardenstate produces progressive house and melodic house & techno that sits comfortably within the 120-128 BPM range favored by Anjunabeats artists. The project has released music on Anjunabeats, Odd One Out, and Spectrum, with seven releases spanning from 2020 to 2025. Their sound combines the melodic sensibilities of progressive house with the driving energy of melodic techno, creating tracks that work equally well in peak-time sets and deeper, more contemplative moments on the dancefloor.
