Gene Farris

Gene Farris operates from Chicago's South Shore neighborhood, where he has remained active as a house music DJ and producer since the early 1990s. He founded Farris Wheel Recordings in 1998, establishing a platform for both established and emerging artists in the house and tech-house genres. His production career spans over three decades in the Chicago house scene, with releases appearing on his own imprint alongside major labels.

Farris produces tech house, house, and deep house tracks, releasing music through Farris Wheel Recordings, Toolroom, Relief, Subliminal, and Material. His output maintains the driving energy characteristic of Chicago house while incorporating contemporary tech house elements, with tracks suitable for peak-time dance floor moments. Since 2012, he has maintained consistent release activity across these labels, with his most recent material appearing in 2024, demonstrating his continued relevance in both traditional house music circles and modern tech house scenes.
