Gene

Gene is a UK alternative rock quartet from London that formed in 1993 and disbanded in 2004. The group consists of Martin Rossiter on vocals, Matt James on guitar, Kevin Miles on bass, and Steve Mason on drums. Between 2010 and 2013, the band released six electronic music tracks spanning deep house, tech house, and minimal deep tech genres, with their first electronic release appearing in August 2010 and their final release in August 2013.

Gene's electronic output operates in the 120-128 BPM range typical of deep house and tech house, delivering groove-focused tracks with stripped-down arrangements. Their sound centers on rolling basslines, crisp percussion, and atmospheric pads that create a hypnotic, club-ready energy.
