Giriu Dvasios

Giriu Dvasios is the dub techno project of Evaldas Azbukauskas from Mazeikiai, Lithuania. He launched the project in early 2009, with his first documented release appearing in July 2012. The name translates to "The Spirits of The Woods" in Lithuanian, reflecting his practice of giving Lithuanian nature-themed titles to his tracks. He operates under several aliases including Soulsonic and 101, and runs his own imprint alongside releases on Cold Tear Records.

His sound spans dub techno, ambient, and minimal deep tech territories, with occasional ventures into peak time driving techno. The 14 releases in his catalog showcase a consistent focus on atmospheric, nature-inspired electronic music that draws from the forests surrounding his Lithuanian hometown. His productions typically feature the hypnotic, reverb-drenched characteristics of classic dub techno, combined with ambient textures that create immersive soundscapes. The self-titled label Giriu Dvasios serves as the primary outlet for his work, allowing him complete creative control over his atmospheric interpretations of Lithuanian woodland environments.
