Gunjah

Gunjah is the alias of Markus Rätz, a German DJ and producer from Dresden who began his career in 1977. Rätz serves as one of the founders of Moensterbox and started releasing music under the Gunjah moniker in 2013. He operates primarily as a solo artist while collaborating with Marc Reign on select projects.

Gunjah's sound spans deep house, nu disco, indie dance, tech house, and electronica, with all nine of his releases between 2013 and 2016 appearing on the Dantze label. His productions lean toward the deeper, more melodic side of electronic music, incorporating disco influences and indie dance sensibilities that work across both peak-time and warm-up sets. The consistency of his output on Dantze demonstrates a focused artistic vision that blends house music's dancefloor functionality with more experimental electronica elements.
