gyrofield

gyrofield is the production alias of Kiana Li, a drum & bass producer originally from Hong Kong who was formerly based in Bristol, UK and now operates from Utrecht, Netherlands. Li began producing music in 2002 and launched the gyrofield project with her first release appearing in February 2022 on Kapsela.

Her sound spans drum & bass and raw techno territories, delivering releases across respected imprints including Critical Music, Overview Music, and Kapsela. The gyrofield project explores both the rolling, liquid textures of modern drum & bass and the harder-edged dynamics of experimental electronic music, with IDM influences threading through her productions. Her output demonstrates a focus on hypnotic and deep sonic constructions, positioning her work within the more cerebral corners of both the drum & bass and techno scenes.
