HI-LO

HI-LO operates as the alias of Dutch DJ and producer Oliver Heldens, who hails from Rotterdam and began his career in 1995. The project represents a departure from Heldens' main artist persona, allowing him to explore darker techno territories. HI-LO runs the HILOMATIK label, which serves as the primary outlet for releases under this moniker.

HI-LO's sound centers on peak time driving techno and raw deep hypnotic techno, with occasional forays into melodic house and progressive house. The project releases primarily on Drumcode and Armada Music, with 25 releases documented since launching in 2025. The music maintains higher energy levels suitable for main room and festival settings, contrasting with the more accessible house sound of the Oliver Heldens project. Recent releases span from driving techno workouts to more melodic interpretations, indicating an evolving approach to the techno spectrum while maintaining the harder edge that defines the HI-LO identity.
