IMOGEN

IMOGEN is the project of Cologne-based DJ and musician Florian Merz, who began releasing music under this alias in July 2023. The German producer operates from Cologne's electronic music scene and maintains the IMOGEN moniker alongside releases under his real name.

IMOGEN's sound spans electro, techno, and house territories with releases on Tresor Records, Steel City Dance Discs, and Wigs across five releases since 2023. The project moves between classic Detroit electro influences and raw techno, incorporating elements of Afro house, bass house, and deep house. Tresor Records serves as a primary outlet for IMOGEN's harder-edged material, while the diverse label roster reflects the project's range from hypnotic techno to house-oriented productions. The sound emphasizes both raw energy and deeper, more hypnotic elements depending on the release context.
