Jesse Bru, real name Jesse Brow, is a Vancouver-based producer, MC and DJ who began releasing electronic music in 2012. The Canadian artist operates as both a solo act and as one half of the duo Hot Keys alongside Ryan Trann. Since his debut release in July 2012, Bru has maintained consistent output across multiple labels, with his most recent release appearing in June 2024.
Bru produces deep house with modern sensibilities, drawing influence from early-90s sample-based hip hop while maintaining soulful elements throughout his productions. His releases span deep house, techno, and electro territories across labels including LYAM, Oathcreations, Blaq Numbers, Heart To Heart Records, and Step Rec. His sound incorporates both peak time driving techno and classic Detroit electro influences, with 11 releases demonstrating his range across house music's various sub-genres. Bru's approach combines impressionistic sampling techniques with contemporary deep house frameworks.
