Joey Montenegro, real name David Russell Lee, is a Mexican house music artist born on June 18, 1964, on the Isle of Wight, England. Lee previously operated under the Joey Negro alias from 1990 to July 2020 before transitioning to the Montenegro moniker. He also performs under aliases including Prospect Park, Jakatta, and Sessomatto. Montenegro began releasing music under his current alias in August 2025, with his first release appearing on August 9, 2025.

Montenegro's sound spans house, Afro house, deep house, organic house/downtempo, and tech house genres. He releases exclusively on Z Records, a label he operates. His music encompasses both uplifting Afro house rhythms and deeper, more contemplative downtempo compositions, providing DJs with versatile material for different parts of their sets.
