Johannes Volk

Johannes Volk is a German DJ and producer who began his career in 2013 with his first release on February 27th. He discovered Detroit Techno at age 14, which led him to explore electronic dance music's roots and begin DJing. Volk operates his own label Exploration Records, where he releases conceptual techno music. He has released 22 tracks across multiple imprints and maintains an active presence as both a producer and vinyl collector.

Volk's sound spans peak time driving techno, raw deep hypnotic techno, indie dance, house, and melodic house & techno. He releases music on respected labels including Cocoon Recordings, Running Back, Dolly, Tief Music, and Polytone, alongside his own Exploration imprint and previous releases on Axis and Sistrum. His DJ sets combine open-minded programming with raw and hypnotic techno sounds, drawing from his extensive vinyl collection. His production style focuses on conceptual techno that bridges the driving energy of peak time tracks with the deeper, more introspective qualities of hypnotic techno.
