John Plaza is a Chilean techno producer based in Barcelona who operates under the alias Arof. He launched his recording career in November 2022 with his debut release on Dissident Music. Plaza owns Virescence Records, which serves as an outlet for his productions alongside his releases on external labels.
Plaza produces raw, deep, and hypnotic techno characterized by minimalist percussions, continuous atmospheres, and breakbeat rhythms. His tracks appear on labels including DAYBREAK, KHOROS RECORDS, Circular Limited, and his own Virescence Records imprint. The producer also creates peak time driving techno, demonstrating range within the genre's spectrum. Since his 2022 debut, Plaza has maintained consistent output with 11 releases documented through December 2025, establishing his presence in the underground techno circuit.
