John Selway

John Brinton Selway originates from Washington, D.C. and operates from New York. Active since the early 1990s, Selway began with the electronic band Chaotic Sound Matrix before forming the New York techno duo Disintegrator. He has collaborated extensively as Smith & Selway and operates under aliases including Spy, Brinton McKay, and Galactic Spiral Sound. Selway runs his own deep and minimal techno label CSM and has contributed to early Deep Dish productions.

Selway produces peak time driving techno, raw deep hypnotic techno, tech house, and progressive house. His releases appear on labels including Tronic, Face To Face, and Science Cult, with 14 releases documented between 2009 and 2025. His techno productions range from driving peak time tracks suitable for main room sets to deeper hypnotic material designed for extended club journeys. Selway's tech house output incorporates progressive elements, while his raw techno releases emphasize stripped-down, minimal arrangements that maintain dancefloor functionality across extended DJ sets.
