Jon Hester

Jon Hester is an American DJ and producer from Chicago and Minneapolis who currently operates from Berlin, Germany. He began releasing music in 2016 with his debut on Participation, a label he appears to be closely associated with based on his continued output there. Hester runs his own Participation imprint, which serves as his primary creative outlet alongside releases on established labels.

His sound spans raw and hypnotic techno through to peak-time driving cuts, with occasional forays into classic electro and deep house territories. Hester releases consistently on Rekids, RSPX, Dystopian, and Les Enfants Terribles, building a catalog of 23 releases that showcase his range from stripped-back, hypnotic grooves to more aggressive dancefloor material. His techno productions lean toward the deeper, more cerebral end of the spectrum while maintaining enough drive for peak-time deployment, making his tracks suitable for both opening sets and prime-time slots.
