About

Justine Suissa is a British vocalist and songwriter from London who entered the electronic music scene in 1999 with her appearance on Chicane's "Autumn Tactics" from the album "Behind the Sun." Born Justine Simone Freha Suissa in 1970, she originally hailed from Sutton Coldfield before relocating to London. Above & Beyond recruited Suissa in 2001 to form the trance project OceanLab, establishing her as a prominent voice in the UK trance scene. She toured extensively with Chicane in 2000, performing across venues from New York to Ibiza including Glastonbury and Party in the Park for the Princes Trust.

Suissa works primarily within trance and dance-pop territories, releasing material through major electronic labels including Anjunabeats and Armada Music Albums. Her recent output spans from 2021 to 2025, encompassing main floor trance, house, and crossover dance-pop productions. Her vocal style bridges the uplifting trance aesthetic with more accessible dance formats, making her tracks suitable for both peak-time club sets and radio-friendly environments. The collaboration with Above & Beyond through OceanLab represents her most significant contribution to the trance genre, while her solo releases demonstrate versatility across multiple electronic dance music subgenres.
