Kalabrese is Sacha Winkler, a Zurich-based electronic music artist who has operated as a DJ, producer, promoter, and club owner for over a decade. He gained international attention in 2004 with his Perlon release "Chicken Fried Rice" and followed with his debut album "Rumpelzirkus" in 2007. Winkler has maintained consistent output on Zukunft Recordings, with his first documented release appearing in April 2013 and his most recent scheduled for July 2025.

His production style spans indie dance, house, nu disco, and melodic house and techno, evolving from minimal foundations toward organic funk rhythms and song-oriented structures.
