Karizma

Karizma is Christopher Clayton, born March 28, 1970, in Baltimore, Maryland. The American producer began his career as a member of The Basement Boys production team before launching his solo project in 2014 with releases on r2 records. Clayton operates under several aliases including Da Mutha Funka, Kohesive, and Kayorcan, and has maintained his Kaytronik imprint alongside his release schedule.

His sound spans deep house, tech house, and Afro house territories, incorporating jazz and hip-hop influences into his productions. Karizma releases on labels including Atjazz Record Company, Foliage Records, Papa Records, and r2 records, with additional remix work appearing on Defected and Strictly Rhythm. His tracks typically blend broken beat rhythms with house frameworks, creating mid-tempo grooves that work across both peak-time and deeper set moments. Since 2014, he has maintained consistent output with 12 releases through 2025, evolving from his foundational deep house approach to incorporate more Afro house and nu disco elements.
