Kiasmos is a Faroese-Icelandic duo composed of Ólafur Arnalds and Janus Rasmussen, formed in 2009. The group began releasing music in 2014 with their first appearance on erased tapes, establishing themselves as a collaborative project between two established electronic artists from the Nordic region.
Kiasmos produces minimal techno and microhouse that spans from deep house to peak time driving techno, with releases appearing on erased tapes and Cercle Records. Their sound incorporates IDM influences with experimental techno elements, maintaining a minimal approach that bridges ambient textures with dancefloor-focused rhythms. The duo has maintained consistent output since 2014, with 15 releases across their catalog through 2025, demonstrating their evolution from electronica into more club-oriented territories while retaining their Nordic minimalist aesthetic.
