Kususa

Kususa is a South African electronic dance duo formed in late 2016 by Joshua Sihle Sokweba and Mncedi Tshicila. The duo's name, pronounced "koo-su-sah," combines both artists' stage names and translates to "to start over" in the Southern African language of Shona. They began releasing music in 2019, with their first release appearing on June 22nd of that year.

Kususa creates music spanning afro house, deep house, tech house, and melodic house & techno, incorporating elements of Afrobeat and traditional African music into their electronic productions. The duo has released music on respected labels including Cadenza, MoBlack Records, and Sudam Recordings, establishing themselves within both the South African electronic music scene and international house music circles. Their sound blends the rhythmic foundations of African music with contemporary house music structures, resulting in tracks that work equally well in underground club settings and festival environments.
