About
LaForrest Cope, known as La La, originates from Queens, New York and works as an R&B vocalist and composer. She performed with Mic Murphy of the System in the Jack Sass Band during the late 1970s and early 1980s, contributing to tracks "Much Too Much" and "Save My Life." Cope spent the 1980s providing backup vocals and songwriting services before transitioning to electronic music production in 2024.
La La produces peak time driving techno, house, and tech house tracks across multiple labels including Nervous Records, Brand New Records, ATW Records, RAW, and Rhythm Section International. Her electronic output began in April 2024 and spans seven releases, incorporating dance and pop elements alongside her core techno and house productions. The music maintains the energy levels suitable for peak time DJ sets while drawing from her R&B background in vocal arrangements and compositional structure.
