Laurent Garnier

Laurent Denis Garnier, born February 1, 1966 in Boulogne-Billancourt, France, began his career mixing house music in Manchester's late 1980s scene after working as a waiter at the French Embassy in London until 1986. He co-founded F Communications alongside Eric Morand, establishing one of France's most significant electronic music labels, and later co-founded COD3 QR with Scan X and Oliver Way.

Garnier's sound spans peak time driving techno, raw deep hypnotic techno, house, and electronica, with releases appearing on his own F Communications and COD3 QR imprints as well as respected labels including Kompakt, fabric Records, and Rekids. His productions range from driving dancefloor-focused techno to more experimental electronic compositions, maintaining consistent output with 30 releases tracked since 2010 and continuing through 2025. His dual-label ownership demonstrates his commitment to both accessible peak-time material and deeper, more hypnotic explorations within the techno spectrum.
