Lost at the Rave

Lost at the Rave is the project of Matthew J Gilbert, who emerged from London's Nu Rave scene in 2006 with the debut single "Mr Whippy." The Matthew !WOWOW! remix of this track received championing from XFM radio DJs John Hillcock and Jon Kennedy during summer 2006, establishing Lost at the Rave as one of the earliest releases from London's Nu Rave movement. Gilbert shared stages with Klaxons and Crystal Castles during the Canadian duo's first UK visit in summer 2006.

Lost at the Rave produces house and tech house music, releasing on labels including FRENZY, Brobot Records, and Great Stuff Recordings. The project has released five tracks between March 2025 and February 2026, marking a transition from the original Nu Rave sound into electronic dance music territories. The house productions maintain the energy associated with Gilbert's earlier work while adapting to contemporary club-focused formats suitable for DJ sets.
