About

Luke Simon Arthur Slater operates from the UK as one of the country's longest-standing techno producers, active since the late 1980s when he worked at Mi Price record shop in Reading. Born on June 12, 1968, in Reading, Berkshire, Slater later moved to Crawley and became involved with founding the Jelly Jam Records shop and label. He performs under multiple aliases including Planetary Assault Systems and Clementine, and established his own Mote-Evolver imprint in 2006. Slater also held a residency at Troll during his early career development.

Slater's output spans from raw, hypnotic techno to peak-time driving material, with recent releases appearing on Mote Evolver, STOOR, Ostgut Ton, and A-TON between 2019 and 2025. His sound encompasses both deep, meditative techno explorations and high-energy dancefloor weapons, often incorporating electronica and downtempo elements into full album projects. The Planetary Assault Systems alias typically delivers harder, more industrial-leaning techno, while his Luke Slater releases explore broader electronic territories ranging from introspective ambient works to club-ready peak-time material.
