Ma Haiping

Ma Haiping is an electronic music producer based in Shanghai, China, who operates under the alias Mhp. He began releasing music internationally in October 2022, quickly gaining recognition for fusing Detroit techno traditions with hypnotic atmospheres and sci-fi aesthetics. His breakthrough came with the album Chang'e-4 on Jeff Mills' Axis Records, which Mills praised for pushing sonic boundaries while maintaining techno's foundational elements. Haiping has released 13 tracks across multiple respected imprints since his debut.

His productions span raw, deep, and hypnotic techno alongside trance and afro house elements, appearing on labels including Molecular Recordings, Synthetik Sounds, Soma Records, and OLDBRIDGE Records. In 2025, he joined Soma Quality Recordings with the release "Earthworm," marking his continued ascent in the global techno scene. His sound combines the driving intensity of Detroit techno with atmospheric textures and futuristic themes, creating tracks that work equally well in peak-time sets and after-hours environments.
