Markus Masuhr

Markus Masuhr is a German electronic music producer and DJ from Leipzig who began his electronic music journey in 1993. He started DJing at a youth club and illegal parties in Leipzig, spinning techno records until 1997 before taking a three-year detour into hip hop with local sound crews. He returned to 4/4 rhythms in 2000 and joined various party crews in Leipzig, establishing himself as a techno DJ while developing an appreciation for minimal sounds. Masuhr also produces under the alias Stghz.01 and released his first tracked material in July 2015.

His production work spans peak time driving techno, dub techno, and raw deep hypnotic techno styles across labels including NuLabel, Circular Limited, and Greyscale. Masuhr's releases demonstrate a range from harder-edged peak time material to deeper, more atmospheric dub techno explorations. His most recent release appeared in August 2023, showing consistent activity across nearly a decade of production work. The German producer's sound reflects his Leipzig roots and long experience in the techno scene, moving between driving club-focused tracks and more introspective hypnotic material.
