Marquis Hawkes is the alias of Mark Hawkins, who operates from Berlin and began releasing electronic music in March 2014. The producer also records under the aliases Mark Hawkins, DJ M.H., and The Spider. Hawkes produces house, deep house, tech house, peak time techno, and classic Detroit electro across multiple respected labels including Aus Music, Houndstooth, Unknown to the Unknown, and Dixon Avenue Basement Jams. His sound spans from the deeper, groove-oriented end of house music to driving peak time techno, often incorporating classic electro elements that reference Detroit's foundational electronic sound.
