Martin Ikin

Martin Ikin has been producing electronic music since 1991, initially releasing hardcore, jungle techno, and drum and bass tracks on labels including Basement, Face, and Precious Materials under his DJ Mayhem alias. After taking a hiatus from music production, he returned to focus on house music and established his own Soul Purpose imprint. He also operates under the aliases Indigo and Soul Purpose, and has collaborated with DJ Phantasy on releases for Easy Records.

Ikin's current sound centers on tech house and deep house, with releases appearing on major labels including Toolroom, Ultra, Repopulate Mars, Simma Black, and Lost Records since 2013. His productions typically feature funky, US-styled house elements that maintain the energy and groove essential for peak-time DJ sets. The music ranges from deeper, more intricate house cuts to driving tech house tracks designed for main room environments, demonstrating his evolution from the harder jungle and drum and bass roots of his early career to contemporary dancefloor-focused productions.
