Matt Star

Matt Star is the alias of German producer Matthias Schildger, born in 1987 in Offenbach am Main. He began his involvement in electronic music at age 12 in 1999, playing at various parties throughout his early career. Star also produces under the aliases M.S. and Automatt, and has maintained an active release schedule since his first appearance on Electrobuzz in October 2009.

Star's sound spans minimal/deep tech, tech house, deep house, and peak time techno, with 24 releases documented across a 13-year period ending in August 2022. He has released music on respected labels including Fantastic Friends Recordings, Little Helpers, and Rawax. His productions cover the full spectrum from deeper, more contemplative house tracks to driving techno designed for peak-time dance floor moments, making him a versatile addition to DJ sets across multiple electronic music contexts.
