Matte

Matte is the electronic music project of Swedish drummer Mattias Modin from Luleå. Modin is primarily known as the drummer for black metal bands Dark Funeral and Defleshed, joining the latter in 1995 and also performing on albums by Infernal and Nonexist. He performs under the alias Fjällhammer and began releasing electronic music in April 2024.

Matte produces funky house and nu disco tracks that represent a complete departure from Modin's metal background. His releases appear exclusively on PornoStar Records, with ten tracks released between April 2024 and December 2025. The project focuses on disco-influenced house music with funk elements, operating at the more groove-oriented end of the house spectrum rather than the harder, faster tempos associated with his drumming work.
