Mike Steva is an Australian DJ and producer based in Melbourne who began releasing music in 2013. He operates under the alias Space Funk and founded the Deeper Roots Music label. Since his debut release in March 2013, he has maintained consistent output with 13 releases spanning over a decade of production work.
His sound encompasses deep house, Afro house, melodic house & techno, and tech house across multiple respected imprints. Steva releases on Yoruba Records, Innervisions, Afroterraneo Music, Sondela Recordings Ltd, and MoBlack Records, establishing his presence within both the deeper house and Afrocentric electronic music scenes. His production style blends the rhythmic elements of Afro house with the melodic sensibilities of deeper house music, creating tracks suitable for both peak-time and after-hours DJ sets.
