Moby

Richard Melville Hall, known as Moby, is a multi-instrumentalist and producer from Harlem, New York who began his electronic music career in the 1980s. The American artist has operated under aliases including Voodoo Child, U.H.F., and Barracuda throughout his decades-spanning career. He founded two labels: Little Idiot and Always Centered At Night, the latter serving as his primary release platform in recent years.

Moby's current electronic output spans house, tech house, and peak-time driving techno, with 56 releases cataloged since 2011 across labels including Defected, Suara, Deutsche Grammophon, and his own Always Centered At Night imprint. His productions range from driving techno cuts suitable for peak-time sets to more refined house tracks, marking a significant evolution from his earlier downtempo and ambient work. Recent releases on Defected and Suara demonstrate his focus on club-ready material, while his Always Centered At Night releases explore more experimental electronic territories.
