Modeselektor

Modeselektor is a Berlin-based electronic duo comprising Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary, who began performing under this name in 1996 after initially meeting in 1992. The German group signed to BPitch Control in 2000 following their friendship with Ellen Allien, and they have also released music under the alias Fundamental Knowledge. The duo operates their own labels monkeytown records and 50weapons, establishing themselves as both artists and label owners within Berlin's electronic music ecosystem.

The duo produces music spanning techno, electronica, house, and melodic house & techno, with their sound encompassing both peak time driving techno and raw, deep, hypnotic variations. Modeselektor releases music on monkeytown records, 50weapons, and !K7 Records, with their catalog including 30 releases dating from 2011 to present. Their productions range from high-energy peak time material suitable for main room play to deeper, more hypnotic compositions that work across different points in a DJ set. The duo's output demonstrates versatility across house and techno tempos while maintaining their signature approach to electronic composition.
