Mota is a Spanish duo from Madrid consisting of Manuel Martos and Álvaro de Azcárate. The group began releasing electronic music in 2022, marking a departure from their established pop-rock background. Martos is the son of Spanish singer Raphael, bringing a musical lineage to the project.
Mota produces raw, deep, and hypnotic techno alongside peak time driving variants. The duo releases on labels including Dreizehn Schallplatten, trau-ma, Rowan Underground, and Hidden Secret Records. Their techno output spans from introspective, atmospheric pieces to high-energy dancefloor tracks designed for peak hours. Since their electronic debut in May 2022, Mota has maintained consistent output across multiple respected techno imprints, with releases scheduled through 2026.
