Mr. C

Richard West, known professionally as Mr. C, is an English DJ and producer born January 2, 1965, in Mile End, London. He began MC'ing in London clubs at age 16 and became resident rapper at the legendary Shoom club in the late 1980s before transitioning to DJing. West founded multiple influential labels including End Recordings, Plink Plonk, and Superfreq, and co-owned the End nightclub. He performs under several aliases including Mantrac and Unity, and gained early recognition as the frontman and vocalist for The Shamen.

Mr. C's productions span tech house, peak-time techno, deep house, and electronic genres, releasing on his own SexOnWax Recordings imprint. His catalogue demonstrates a consistent drive toward dancefloor-focused material, with releases spanning from 2010 to 2022 showing his sustained presence in underground electronic music.
