Nicky Romero, born Nick Rotteveel on January 6, 1989, is a Dutch producer and DJ from Amerongen in the Province of Utrecht. He operates under the alias Monocule and runs Protocol Recordings, which has become one of his primary release outlets. Since beginning his career, Romero has established himself as a versatile artist working across multiple electronic music styles.

His sound spans mainstage house, melodic house & techno, deep house, and minimal deep tech, demonstrating significant range from peak-time festival tracks to underground club cuts.
