Nicolas Jaar

Nicolas Jaar is an American experimental electronic musician and producer born January 10, 1990, and based in New York. He began releasing music in 2010 and operates under multiple aliases including Against All Logic and E$tado Unido. Jaar co-founded the band DARKSIDE in 2011 and runs his own label Other People, through which he releases much of his experimental work.

Jaar's sound spans deep house, tech house, and electronica with a distinctly minimal approach that incorporates experimental elements. His releases appear on labels including Other People, Ruptured, and R&S Records, with 24 releases documented since 2010. His music ranges from downtempo experimental compositions to more dancefloor-focused house tracks, particularly evident in his Against All Logic project which leans toward sample-heavy, groove-oriented productions. Jaar's catalog demonstrates consistent evolution from his early deep house work toward increasingly abstract electronic compositions that blend acoustic instrumentation with electronic manipulation.
