Nils Frahm

Nils Oliver Frahm is a German pianist, producer and composer from Hamburg, born in 1982. He founded his own label in early 2008 and co-founded the Leiter label. Frahm later converted Saal 3 into a professional recording environment for his work. His electronic music releases began appearing on Electrobuzz in 2015, with nine releases documented through 2025.

Frahm's electronic output spans ambient, electronica, and melodic house & techno, with releases appearing on Erased Tapes. His sound bridges modern classical minimalism with electronic production, incorporating instrumental piano elements into electronic frameworks. The music ranges from contemplative ambient pieces to more rhythmic melodic house tracks, reflecting his background as both a classically-trained pianist and electronic music producer. His releases demonstrate a consistent approach to blending acoustic piano textures with electronic processing and ambient atmospheres.
