Noir

Noir is the stage name of Danish DJ and producer René Kristensen, based in Aalborg, North Jutland. He founded his label Noir Music in 2007 and has released music under several aliases including Decaff, RNK, and Soul Flava. Kristensen began releasing electronic music in 2010, with his catalog spanning over a decade of consistent output through 2021. His label operates alongside the subsidiary imprint NM2, providing platforms for both his own productions and other artists in the techno and house spectrum.

Noir's sound centers on peak-time driving techno with substantial crossover into tech house and deep house territories. His 76 releases appear across respected labels including his own Noir Music and NM2 imprints, as well as Material, Get Physical Music, and Tronic. The productions lean toward club-focused energy levels, built for dance floor impact rather than ambient listening. His techno work emphasizes the driving, peak-time classification while his house material explores both the deeper, atmospheric side and the more percussion-heavy tech house approach, giving DJs versatile options across different sets and time slots.
