Olivier Desmet Artist Bio

Born in Brussels, Belgium, Olivier Desmet launched his career in the music business working as A&R and promotions manager for the Afterhours Music label in Chicago. During his stay in Chicago, Olivier began producing music under the guidance of respected Chicago artist Mazi (aka Audio Soul Project). An offer to manage the world-renowned Moulton Studios facility for Jay-J and Chris Lum prompted Olivier to move to San Francisco in February 2002.

Currently, Olivier lives and works in San Francisco where he runs his label Amenti Music, one of the most respected imprints in the business. With over thirty releases, Amenti continues to gain popularity thanks to stellar offerings by artists such as Swirl Peepz, ECB, JT Donaldson, Inland Knights, LawnChair Generals, and many others. Olivier is also co-owner and full time buyer for primalrecords.com, an established online record shop based in the San Francisco bay area.

Olivier has also produced and remixed over 50 records for top labels such as Aroma, Amenti Music, Fetish Recordings, King Street, Nighshift, Afterhours, and Tango Recordings. His productions have been favorites with top jocks such as Mark Farina, DJ Heather, Derrick Carter, DJ Sneak, Raoul Belmans, and LawnChair Generals. OD’s collaborated on many productions with Oriental Funk Stew and Chuck Diesel, and has also worked on projects with Fred Everything (with whom he remixed the legendary Mood II Swing for Amenti Music / King Street), DJ Spettro, Daniell Spencer, Ken from East Coast Boogiemen, Joey Youngman and Demarkus Lewis. His productions have appreared on countless mix CDs, including Farina’s recent “Live @ OM”, “House Of Om” and “Fabric” CDs, and Heather’s “Fabric 21” and “Om Summer Session” disks.

A seventeen year veteran behind the decks, Olivier has played venues and events in all major North American markets, and had travelled all over the world, with yearly European, Asian, and Australian tours.
