Onmutu Mechanicks

Onmutu Mechanicks is the project of German artist Arne Weinberg, operating as a group that explores electronic music beyond his techno work under aliases Tangula and Valanx. The project began in 2006 with Niko Tzoukmanis as a member until 2007, after which Weinberg continued solo. Now based in Glasgow, Scotland, Onmutu Mechanicks has released five records on Echocord since their first release in November 2010.

The project creates deep techno spanning raw, hypnotic, and peak time driving variations alongside ambient compositions. Onmutu Mechanicks releases exclusively on Echocord, developing music that deliberately avoids typical rhythm structures and conventional electronic music rules. Their sound encompasses both beatless ambient territories and driving techno designed for extended DJ sets, with releases continuing through 2025 that maintain their approach to unconventional electronic music production.
