Phon.o

Carsten Aermes performs as Phon.o, a German electronic music producer from Sachsen who began playing records in the early 1990s alongside Apparat in the Harz mountains of former East Germany. After relocating to Berlin in 2000, Phon.o established himself in the electronic music scene and began releasing material on labels including Californian imprint Cytrax and Berlin-based Shitkatapult.

Phon.o produces peak time driving techno, electronica, and house music, with releases appearing on prominent labels including Bpitch Control, 50 Weapons, and Tectonic between 2011 and 2018. His sound spans from driving techno designed for peak-time dancefloor moments to more experimental electronica, with the artist maintaining a consistent output of twelve releases over seven years.
