Population One

Population One is the alias of Detroit producer Terrence Dixon, who began releasing electronic music in 2012. Dixon also records under his real name and the Minimal Detroit moniker, establishing himself within Detroit's techno scene over more than a decade of releases.

Population One's sound centers on driving techno and hypnotic electronica, spanning tempos from raw deep cuts to peak-time floor weapons. Dixon releases material across labels including Rush Hour, Out-er, 30drop Records, Modularz, and ExoPlanet, with 14 releases catalogued through 2026. His productions blend classic Detroit electro influences with modern techno sensibilities, delivering both stripped-down minimal tracks and more driving peak-time material that works across different points in a DJ set.
