Posthuman is the electronic duo of cousins Richard Bevan and Joshu Doherty, formed in 1999. Bevan operates from East London while Doherty works from Glasgow. The group debuted in 2000 with a series of handmade CDs titled "Posthuman," distinguished by their colored card inserts in grey, black, blue and brown. They also record under the aliases On / Off, Walter Becomes Wendy, and The House Husbands.
Their sound spans peak time techno, classic electro, and leftfield house across 17 releases since 2012. Posthuman releases on Dixon Avenue Basement Jams, Tripalium Records, Shipwrec, and Craigie Knowes, delivering driving techno cuts alongside Detroit-influenced electro and house tracks. Their productions range from high-energy dancefloor material to more experimental leftfield compositions, maintaining consistent output through 2024 with releases scheduled into 2026. The duo's catalog demonstrates versatility across electronic subgenres while maintaining focus on club-ready functionality.
